I sometimes hear folks concerned that these regulations are expensive. I suppose the cost might be a bit higher on initial investment, but the long term savings, increased value, and safety surely make this one of the best regulatory investments we can make.

Hi Harold, yes you make a great point. It has been my experience that if someone is building something for resale and profit, then their objections are centered on “first costs”. However, when it is explained to someone who owns or operates a building or facility about the longer term financial benefits and performance that a building and systems provide when built to higher standards. And, that the upfront costs are paid back usually within 2 to 5 years while providing an improved living/working environment, then these objections are generally overcome.
